Good to know! I'm very new at this, so I'm absorbing everything I can and appreciate all information! But just to clarify I didn't write that above, that was the information from the eBay seller where I purchased the maran eggs. :)

Yes very odd I thought but the seller I purchased the eggs from said that it might happen. Below is what they had to say about the eggs I purchased so you know what I mean.... Welcome! WE SHIP ALL OUR EGGS FOR FREE! Hello and thanks for looking. Well we made it through a hard winter but have...

Lol all that are going to hatch have. I got 5 black copper marans and 1 crested cream legbar (pretty sure it's a roo) I did the float test on the 4 unhatched eggs and they all tested viable but had no movement. So following the assisted hatch information I made a small hole in the air cell to...

Temp is currently at 100, humidity at 70 and yes I have a fan. I've had 5 chicks hatch out. I've got 4 eggs that I think are quitters but going to give them another day or two to be sure. And I have 1 egg with an external pip but hasn't zipped all the way yet. It started it's external pip about...

Chick is completely hatched! I have 4 fuzzy babies in the brooder. 4 eggs with no internal or external pip and 2 eggs with an external pip but not zipping.

I just watered the membrane and picked at a little more shell. Hes getting weak I think? Hes not chirping as much. I've had 1 complete hatch and all but 2 of the others has an external pip but no zipping yet. No blood in the membrane and I've gotten right wing, head, neck and right foot...

I picked at the shell more. It appears that it's head is under its right wing just like it should be. I don't see the feet. I think it's just completely upside down in the egg. I didn't see any blood vessels so I assume they have all receded. I didn't open it all the way up tho in fear of the...

That chick has been in the same position for 19 hours now. It's moving it's head some and cherping but has not turned at all. I have had 1 pip, zip and hatch since this morning! I'm terrified of opening the malpositioned chick too early and hurting it... I may try to peel a small amount of...

This chick chirped all night and was active but never turned to continue its hole. I'm going to leave it as is for a few hours and see if it progresses any on its own.

That's how far I got. You can see a tiny bit of blood, once I seen that I stopped. Chick was moving most of the time I had it out. The white membrane feels like paper. It's tearing like paper. The inner membrane under it is more stretchy.

My humidity has been between 40 and 50 until day 18... I raised it to 60.... once this guy popped out I raised it up again to 70 trying to keep the membrane from drying out. My temp has fluctuated from 99 to 101 from day 1. I have 2 other internal pips that are in the air cells, no other...

    pip'd wrong end *photo

I read the assisted hatch article at least 4 times lol, I'm so nervous, haven't slept all night! These are shipped eggs and several have the saddle air cells so I knew this was a possibility. I haven't messed with it since the article says if they have air they are fine, leave them alone. But I...

This chicken pip'd at around 7pm eastern time last night. So it's had this hole for approximately 14 hours. It's still chirping very loudly but hasn't attempted to make the hole any larger. I know that it looks like it's in the large end of the egg but the air cell is on the opposite end. How...
