Rose combs would be awesome! And yes I'm trying for recessive white so I've been keeping the chicks with the red/ brown dot on the head. Is there a better way to select for the white so it will breed true?

I kept a pair of the white yokos just for this project and have more eggs in the incubator to select hens from. It's good to know the yellow legs are dominate. My intent was more to add the Ohiki feathering to the yokos than the other way around. I'd like to reduce the size of my yokos and...

Well, actually I wanted to keep the yellow legs.I want to cross a white too over some recessive white yoko hens, so I want the curtain of feathering but not the legs. I guess beggars can't be chosey, as they say. But thanks for the help. I've been wanting to work with my white yokos and have...

For those of you that out crossed to Phoenix- how long did it take to see improvement and are the green legs dominate? I am going to outcross to a yellow legged bird. Thanks

Mine do not like fish chow but I've started adding more BOSS and tweaking their diet a little and have seen lots of improvement.

On the f1 male, what are the criteria that you set for non molting? Did he come from non molters or that is what you bred specific for in some way?

. I do too, but all my birds are up off the ground so its just part of maintenance for me. The ohiki are easy being so small - the Sussex are a pain. A 12 lb flopping bird is not fun

I want to learn, and have for a long time. All the info I had was what I read online. Amanda has had to answer a zillion questions for me. It would be great to feel like there would be others to ask and share with. I've been honest from the start and I can't have 1000 birds where we live but I...

If it's impossible for a barred bird then I guess that's why it was yellow legged. I thought it was due to the mix of breeds and not the link to the color. That's very interesting to find out that fact. The auction is down or atleast I can't find it again , but the ohiki/ fly tie mix is a...
