Multiple spurs do not get very big.. My Sumatra cock is a bit over a year and his spurs are about 1/4-1/2 inch. He has 4 on each leg. The more spurs, the less they grow.

@Grannychick55 they are just like any other bird but a bit more flighty. I feed mine gamebird(turkey) feed. I get something called power protein pellets 27.7% protein and it costs $16 a 50lbs bag of feed. Inexpensive but great.

    Sumatra Thread!

Thank you. The guy I bought the sumatra/aseel has some really good aseel crosses. Mostly bred for aggressiveness though. Last week he sold a cockerel that was Sumatra/aseel/AG. Very nice tall bird, thick bodied and long tail. It was basically an upright Sumatra.

@Black Raja no lie but that bird looks exactly like my black Sumatra/Aseel cross. Except mine has smaller comb and maybe longer tail. Only 2-3 months old

@Black Raja I think a phoenix/aseel would it give a much better tail and stance to be similar to that bird. I have some phoenix that have a thick curtain of saddles. Or maybe a half aseel 1/4 Sumatra 1/4 phoenix. Keeps the bird upright and the tail genes. Just my thought.

    Sumatra Thread!

@Black Raja I too am breeding for the same traits as you are in your Sumatra line. I have some sumatra/aseel juvies with really dark faces, no wattles, and small pea combs and I have a Sumatra roo over a phoenix hen for the longer tails. From the sumatra/phoenic cross, I got birds that look...

    Sumatra Thread!

@Kae Pasa Hello and welcome. Yes I believe I had stated they were carried horizontally. According to the 2010 APA book. @dsfrango my roo looks just like that but in blue except mine carries his tail a bit below horizontal so crossed to phoenix to pick up the tail a bit and the 1 chick that...

@fowlman01 this is my first with asil blood and didn't know they were aggressive. I don't think I'm going to breed into Sumatra if its going to pass on the behavior. I guess they will just stay for showing
