    :frow Hi there and welcome. I'm in Smith County. You can get away with a half a square foot per bird for the first 3 weeks or so depending on the breed, but a foot is better and would give you more time before they have to go to their coop.

    I've had them lay in December. The best I can say is that I've learned that turkeys are unpredictable. They lay when they get the urge.

    In middle TN with all the rocks I would suggest double steaks that's what I have and it's worked well. Also invest in a gate. I thought it silly at first but love it now. And if your terrain is anything like mine you'll need more posts.
