Yes! You can't have a sexlink within the same breed. SG dorkings are not sex linked or auto sexing for the first one because they are the same breed. The second one because no one bread them to be auto sexing.

You can tell as the feathers grow in on the breast and that is at 3 to 4 weeks old. pullets have salmon corored feather in the breast and cockerels have black It is not true that you can tell from the head color at hatch. Silver dorkings are not classified as an auto sexing breed like crested...

The Breeder I hatched had a problem like that. What she did was move the Cock to a pen away from the hens where they could see each other. They were separated for a week I think and then she started putting him in for a couple of hours a day. It seemed to work. The old absence makes the hear...

Only works for Silver Grey Dorkings and not enough to be officially listed as auto sexing. It does not work at all for other color types of dorkings

I have had it happen a couple of times but not too often. They are very nice though SG dorkings were one of my favorites to hatch when I was hatching with the breeder.

They are 75% auto sexing. You will still be fooled at hatch. You can tell when the chest feathers come in though. Common error with certain breeds. Partridge pennesensenca is the same

@YellowHouseFarm but you will likely have to look up the website. I do not think he uses BYC any more.

That does now look like an SG Dorking. Does it have 5 toes and what color are the legs?

If they came from a breeder and they used the feather color method, that would explain why you have too many cockerels. The color method is 80% accurate. Vent sexing is what the hatcheries use for SG Dorkings.
