Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

Right. Ya that's for sure. They could just eat around it that way. It would be better if they would just eat the mash.

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

*Adding that I do realise I would have to take away the regular feed and only provide access to the feed treated with the wormer either way I go. I was just wondering if the granular stuff was ok to use if they do refuse to eat the mash.

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

It's been a while since I tried it again, and maybe if I withheld food the rest of the day and only fed the mash they might try it. But I've tried getting stuff down them like yogurt by mixing food in it in a mash and it sits there till doomsday untouched. Lol. They won't even eat watermelon...

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

No. I was thinking about the call ducks. We don't like to eat their eggs anyway. I don't know that they have worms but I haven't wormed them since last summer.

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

@casportpony I saw this stuff the other day and wondered if there was any way it could be used mixed in with dry feed? It feels like it's granular. My ducks don't really like mash. It would be awesome if I could use the same principle as doing the mash but use the dry stuff if they would eat...

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

There has got to be an easier way for people with large flocks. I can't imagine people with tons of birds doing this every 6 months to a year. I'm guessing a lot of people must have to be doing the mash, or I wonder if there is something that can be mixed in feed to prevent worms? (And NOT D E)...

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

Mine are ducks lol. But yes it was evident after today I need to snag the little flogger first and put her outside the pen while I dose the others :hmm I wish someone had been here to get it on camera :lau It was quite hilarious to have a duck trying to flog me in defense of her friends :gigshe...

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

So after reading that. Capillary worms come from earth worms I decided to give the full dose individually. .and just toss the eggs. Today was day 3 and boy howdy were they ticked off. One of my females has taken the role of protector and insisted on flogging me every time I picked one up! So. ...

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

I wouldn't know how to know what they have if anything without doing a fecal float. I think I'll do the five day mash and watch their poo s to see if it changes. Do I still have to re treat them ten days later?

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

Ok. . so next question. I wanted to do it this way for the no egg withdraw reason. . we love their yummy eggs. But. .my older two Cayuga girls are having white foamy poo. So, I'm concerned. I want to do what's best for them. More important than eating eggs. Do you think I should do the full...

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

Ok @casportpony .. I got 35 pounds of burd. So 35÷2.2×1÷100 ?? That comes out to 0.15909090909090. So rounding up to 0.16. . that's not even a quarter of a ml. For 5 birds. Am I figuring that all wrong? I failed algebra btw. :lau

Safeguard Mash - Zero Day Egg Withdrawal

Any reason this wouldn't work for ducks too? I probably need to do a routine worming but with the heat I've not wanted to stress them by handling them every day. I don't know if my spoiled calls will eat it though. .they have never liked mash much. I've tried mixing things like yogurt with meal...
