Kira is a year and a half old, while the other four are Ike's age. That's one reason her eggs are so much larger than most of the others. And her chicks are so big, sometimes, they have big trouble getting out of their eggs.

Kira's babies are HUGE! And don't think just because of that, you have a cockerel, either. Cetawin's fat little one that we were sure was a cockerel, is a big girl.

Thanks, I love them. They're such curious, friendly, calm birds. And Isaac is always with his ladies in their dusthole or just laying in the middle of them when they're chilling in the pen. If he's not, he stands up on the ramp to oversee their activities like a big white statue. He sure can...

I must agree that Ike is quite the stud-muffin, LOL. And I can say that because I only selected him and raised him, but can take no credit for breeding him. Maybe some day.... Kathy, you're welcome.

In the hatch that Isaac came from, one pullet hatched on Day 23. She did it on her own, and the only reason I kept that egg in there was that I wanted every bird I could get to pick this group out of. She was smaller than the others, but now has a great home and is very well loved by Yard Full...

I bet they'll keep right on pipping, so just let them do their thing. Bet in the morning, there will be a few little fuzz-butts in the bator playing chickie-bowling.
