Ah okay! Yes I meant white or yellow by white/yellow. They are a mix between colours not breeds - the parents are all the same breed so surely they are still cochin bantams but not a specific or recognised colour?

I guess I meant white/yellow, I know it's not what they're supposed to be like for SQ birds but mine are mixes anyway! I'm just wondering how this cool phenotype came about!?

Hi guys i have a little 1-2 week old chick with SLATE FEET!! the mum is a mille fleur and the dad is part partridge but a mix! Can someone explain this, ive never seen a cochin with feet that arent white!?

Hmm I've heard of hens crowing, sure looks like a hen, can you send a pic of her side so we can see her saddle and hackle feathers?

Are you sure she crowed, did you see her do the typical neck stretching? My hens are as loud a the roosters crow when they're not happy...

Good luck with the chicks! I just got 3 little hens (gold partridge, millefleur & red mottled) and they laid 2 eggs for me the day i got them! Only had some cockerels before, these little ladies are already so tame, and ive only had them for under 2 days! :D
