Could I make a duck diaper?

I don't have an indoor duck, but because he's single for now, and it's so hot I'd like to have James be able to come inside to spend time with me for a bit
I don't have the money to order any, and my grandmother definitely doesn't want to. Plus, I think he'd much prefer being allowed to follow me around the house rather than sit with me cooped up in the bathroom, or only be allowed to stay on the tile floor where there are no rugs.
I can hand sew and have lots of fabrics and such laying around. It's not a must, we still sit outside with him, and I spend as much time as I can with him which seems to keep him happy, but it'd make things just a bit easier for all.

If you can sew, go for it! I made diapers for all of my ducklings until I could order an adult diaper from Nettie. I will say, hers are much better than what I was making! I would sew a prototype, and work with it from there. You will probably make a few before you find one that works for your duck. Good luck!

I have a few of Nettie's, but I'm telling you, nothing beans Kukupecpec's. Her diapers are better, more durable, ship faster, and are cheaper than Nettie's.

I love hearing of who is good to order from, because I do hope I could get a few eventually!
For the mean time, I'll have to play around with sewing things myself, but hopefully I'll figure something out.

Where does she sells hers?

You can PM Kukupecpec directly, or go to her site, SewSammi on Etsy. Her house duck ChaCha models her wares very nicely :p

Now, there is one thing Partyfowl has over Sammi, and that's walking harnesses. Sam has a hook on all of her diapers for attaching a leash to, and it's VERY handy! But I take my ducks down to the river on hot days and it's better for them to have a diaperless harness so they can swim more freely (you oughta see the looks on people's faces, we use an extendable leash for swim time and from a distance it looks like we're reeling in one heck of a big fish, LOL!). But when we're at the park, at home, going for walks, it's Sammi's leash diapers all the way!

EDIT: I just checked her shop to get a link for you and sure enough, she just introduced a diaperless swim harness, ha!

Thanks for the info! I just messaged her. I am wondering though, what is better about hers? I have no complaints about Nettie's, I'm just excited if you like them better, I was wondering why. :)

Oh, and for a swimming harness, I actually use one that is a mesh harness made for small dogs. If fits my ducks perfectly!

They're made of thicker material, so they hold their shape better and last longer (Of the three I bought from Nettie, only one remains). The straps are a bit more sturdy and lay comfortably across the duck's feathers instead of nestling down against the skin, and they're also lined with waterproof material, which is a plus when you're dealing with ducks! :p What's more, Sammi makes all her diapers custom fit, whereas Nettie ballparks it based on the size and breed of the duck. Again, her diapers aren't BAD, not by any stretch! But for all that plus $10 cheaper to boot, it just makes more sense to buy from Sam.
