Answer:

When hens begin laying eggs, transition them to a complete layer feed. The feed should include: calcium for strong shells; amino acids, vitamins and minerals for enhanced egg quality and hen health; and probiotics and prebiotics to promote the hen’s digestive function. Complete layer feeds, like Purina® Layena® Premium Poultry Feed, are formulated to include all of the nutrients hens require while laying eggs.
For additional nutrition inside the egg, feed hens Purina® Layena Plus Omega-3. The added nutrients in this layer feed have been shown to help hens lay eggs with 300% more omega than store-bought eggs.

I have been doing this feed for my chickens but my goose just laid her first egg today and it was a soft shell. Should I feed something else to help this situation. Any help would be appreciated.

The first eggs from a pullet can be soft shelled and I would guess that could happen with a goose. One of my pullets took about a month to normalize. She laid soft shelled and deformed eggs. I fed oyster shell in a separate container about a week later and continue to offer free choice. GC
