An automatic hen hydrator that incorporates the float valve assembly of the Little Giant Automatic Poultry Waterer inside the Little Giant Hen Hydrator to create a fully Automatic Hen Hydrator. The system was installed in our backyard chicken coop in July 2016 and works perfectly maintaining approximately two gallons of fresh clean water without any involvement on our part.
The Little Giant Automatic Poultry Waterer #166386 was purchased from Wilco Farm Stores for $25.99, but the basic design leaves the water container open and therefore exposed to dirt, pine shavings and chicken poop. The Little Giant Hen Hydrator #HH35 was also purchased from Wilco and in my opinion a great improvement over the open container for clean water, but it requires refilling.

You can purchase direct from Miller Manufacturing the float valve assembly #165600KIT I used for $6.15 plus shipping. Then purchase the Little Giant Poultry Nipples that come 4 to a package for $7.49 and install them in a plastic bucket. The cost not including a plastic bucket, plumbing or shipping is less then $14.00.
