Hi

Can someone confirm my suspicions that my young rooster is 'on the job'?

I found this blue egg this morning sitting in a puddle - I have recently introduced a cockerel to my flock and so took the opportunity to check it for fertility as it was no good after being in a puddle all night - what do you think ?

I would say, Yes!

thanks for the info. I will have to pay attention when I crack open an egg. Hopefully when one or more of my girls go broody I will have some fertile eggs for them.

Sometimes you have to flip the yolk over to find the spot, which can be tricky to do without breaking it. I use a large soup spoon.

Hello, newbie again. cracked a few fresh eggs first three days old, second laid today. the spot is right between the lights on the first and to the left of the light on the second. I don't know if these are clear enough to see. I didn't post two that were definite no's. What do we think about these two. this was my best pics. on the bottom one there was a white area to the left of the spot. They were yummy.
