Okay to keep chickens while pregnant?

Here's my other 2 cents worth. Stop living in fear. Do what ya gotta do and know that ya know that God will take care of you. Of course use wisdom and caution when your instincts tell you to. Most of all though, don't live life constantly in fear of this or that. On the basic level being fearful takes away your personal God given divine power. Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. Fear is not trusting in the Divine creator that has promised to always take care of you and provide all your needs from what God has, which is everything. It is how I live and it does take daily practice to truly free myself from the life zapping modes of fear we are bombarded with daily from every (media) angle. Living in fear is not living. This is probably much more in depth than this forum needs or want but, hey, maybe it will help someone.
Blessed be

I would agree with this.

The CDC advises to avoid exposure to chickens while pregnant due to salmonella risk. If it were me, I would still care for the chickens but let someone else do the coop cleaning. As a child, I had a box turtle and never knew that they were a salmonella risk and never had an issue with it, but with an unborn baby, it doesn't hurt to be a little cautious. Missing out on a few months of coop cleaning wouldn't be too bad!

I have been curious about this- thanks for posting the question!
Great answers and I would definitely tell DH you can't clean the coop- just because no body really wants to do it anyway

That is a good thing. Some of us have a harder time letting go and trusting

Thanks for the message. I sure need a good reminder of that often.

If pregnant ladies were really all that delicate, we wouldn't have 6 billion, or whatever it is people. Think about it.
