ha ha ha that is like me waiting for the final go ahead on goats from DJ ...... close but not there yet.
 
Well Pretty Boy almost got himself in a lot of trouble this morning. He actually tried to face off with me. I nipped that right in the bud, and I told him if he ever actually jumps at me (today he just ran up and tried to square off) he'd get a one way ticket with me to Baking's house when she processes her meat birds in a few weeks. That is one thing I will not tolerate in a rooster.
 
Well poo, my goslings are missing. They were there earlier, just not in the coop tonight when I went to lock up. Either something managed to eat two half grown large geese without leaving behind a single feather and also not touching the other goose or any other bird, or they wandered off somewhere, ugh. Well, hopefully they'll be back in the morning. If not, oh well. Didn't have them long enough to get attached to and I'll just raise a nice gander for Lacie in the spring, one that won't be terrified of people.

I need a little help. This is our first time with chickens, and one "Lady" is suspect. What do you think Ruby or Rubio?

Thank you, we just have 2 Austrolorps, an 1 RIR. Ruby is suspect for the pointy tail and the beetle color feathers coming out in her neck and tail. But most of all, a little nub on the inside of each of her legs.

Good breeds! I also have them both. Actually, all chickens have that little spur bump, and even hens can have spurs :) How old is she? I'm not seeing any definite signs of her being a cockerel.
 
I have a black sexlink I hatched from my own eggs and she have gorgeous beetle sheen, hens can have it too ;) my bantam sizzle lady Lola has it too :)

Her "daughter" is getting even more friendly by the day and gorgeous too :D
