Sponges for coyotes

Coyotes are very careful of what they eat, they most likely will not eat your sponge before some bird gets it. Shoot them or find someone who will for you. An experienced trapper can target the correct animal with his sets and use other modern trapping techniques to not hurt the non-targeted wildlife.

You need to protect your animals, what about a hunting party? Invite a group of friends to your ranch for the weekend. Have a prize for the person who bags the most coyotes. Good Luck.
 
I apologize that I attempted to help you, as I've obviously somehow inadvertantly angered you with my attempts to come to your aid. It is apparent that you have chosen a specific method already, and are not very interested in alternatives.

I would definitely recommend checking into people who hunt or trap. Several guys around here coyote hunt. They are ecstatic when somebody with extensive property and a coyote problem asks them to hunt their land. There's a good chance you could get it done for free instead of hiring somebody!
 
They have some calls out now that are state of the art. They look just like a rabbit & have a remote even. You set it up get in hunting position hit the remote & the rabbit squeals & actually moves. Very effective calls on the market. That's what I would do. Most effective in the morning & at dusk. Probably, good in the dark with red lens light or night vision. Try it in different areas around your land. I hunt hogs at night & use a suppressor on my rifle. Here in Texas its legal to shoot hogs with a suppressor. My suppressor is registered with the feds. I usually let the game warden no in advance that I'll be out hog hunting at night.
 
A guy I know told me how he kills them. He is very old and they were killing his goats. When he told me I cringed. it has to be the most horrible death.

*That being said, please do not gloat or suggest torturous ways of killing for pleasure or indeed, post in such a way that your predator control can be construed as pleasure killing instead of simply taking care of a problem.​
