Is there a way to turn off the stuff on the right hand side?

I'm guessing the effect of those settings will somewhat be affected by your screen size and resolution and what browser you're using. They will probably work in the majority of cases, but with all the possible combinations of monitor, resolution, operating system, graphics drivers, browsers, and types of computer, there will be exceptions.

I'm hoping all this stuff can get shaken out over the next month; it could take some time.

It wasn't designed to perform that function. But is has worked for people who had pics thin out on their monitor because of their browser settings.

FYI- THE "STUFF" ON THE RIGHT SIDE IS WHAT IS PAYING FOR BYC TO RUN...ITS CALLED "ADVERTISERS" AND IS JUST ANOTHER FACT OF LIFE.....THAT IS WHAT KEEPS IT FREE FOR US...REMEMBER THAT, JUST LIKE ANY OTHER FREE SITE WE GO TO ON THE INTERNET......BE GLAD WE HAVE ADVERTISERS THAT KEEP IT FREE FOR US....... p.s. I am not crazy about it either...jest saying.....

I also had to increase the zoom on my browser to 200%, It inadvertantly pushed the right column off the edge of the monitor. That was not what I was trying to do. I was trying to make the font larger.

Actually most of us (at least not me) are not complaining about ads, but about the 'reviews' section. I'd rather have ads there, if there has to be SOMETHING there. :p
