Edit by nifty: See update to this problem here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...-notifications-unsubscribing/230#post_8388425

I posted messages about not receiving email notifications in over a week. The message thread I posted on seems to be locked for some reason so I could not ask another question. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/622915/not-receiving-email-notifications
I guess the solution being offered is to unsubscribe and then resubscribe. I am just wondering if all my info will be lost if I unsubscribe? Will my photo albums be gone? Will the people I follow be gone? Will the threads I follow be gone? I guess I could copy down the exact thread titles then run a search. Will I still be a golden feather member? Will I start back at zero for my post count?
I need a little more information before I delete my account and start over.

Hold on... don't confuse "unsubscribe" with changing / deleting your account!

We would never advise that someone change accounts / delete their account to get emails... especially without 100% knowing that is the problem.

We have thousands of members getting emails every day, so it is unlikely a problem with our system sending emails. Your account looks like it is configured properly.

You seem to be using an email from your own domain server which is probably blocking emails. I'd try using a different email address with BYC... maybe an email account with a system like Gmail or Hotmail, then link it to your account, and see if you get the emails at that point. That will at least help isolate where the problem is.

It worked!!! It worked it worked! So excited.
Ok, I know there are other people who had this problem. Tell them this works. I used a different email address and now I am getting notifications! yay!! I really missed them. I have never had a problem with my email from my domain. I had checked all the spam folders and filters and could find nothing, But I used a different email not related to my domain and now they are coming through.
Thank you!!

Ok I feel like a dork. I was driving back from dropping kids off at the bus stop and it dawned on me what "unsubscribe" meant. lol I have no idea why I thought that meant to delete my account.

Thank god I didn't just go ahead and do it. lol
And for the record I had already unsubscribed and then re-subscribed to threads to see if it would work but it did not. So add to the check list of how to fix "not receiving emails" to try using a different email. Cuz it worked. Now I am getting a ton of notifications again. Almost too many, could you adjust it so I only get just the right amount? joke joke!

Thank you again for your help Mr. Administrator.

Ok, I am having the same problem with not receiving emails( I'm on AOL).

Initially when the new format was established, I received all my notifications via email until Jan 23rd when everything stopped. I took your advice & changed my email addy to Gmail. So far, it hasn't made a difference. Is there anything else I can do? TIA
