My eggs were 12 Speckled Sussex shipped. One was broken on arrival. They were each wrapped in a paper towel and placed inside an egg carton..the egg carton was placed at the top of the box with no packing on top. I was not happy with the packing and pretty much knew it would be a miracle if any of them survived. In the same shipment were 3 Sizzle eggs. None of them even started. $50.00 for all those.
The Olive Eggers I got off ebay for $8.00 plus $13 for shipping...they came packed well. 6 of those look good =)
Scott got his eggs off ebay two different sellers. They were packed really well from both sellers. One came from CA and one from PA. In many of them it looks like the yolks have been scrambled..a few have intact air cells but no development. A few you can see the air cells are ruined. I'm new to candling..so I may not be seeing what I think I see. However... each egg glows like a light bulb, no veining, no nothing at day 14.
The ones he put in my bator that started on the 9th....also had nothing at day 18.
The incubators were consistent, we have more than one digital thermometer/hygrometer and a couple regular thermometers that we check with.
