Quote: A sudden gasp from the crowd of dogs alerted the now scheming Arch to an impending attack, but it was too late. A white blur flew through the air and landed some 3 inches away from the traitorous dog. Arch's cry of agony was that like no other as the infuriated she-dog landed on him, snapping his lower back. The dog gasped for breath, but, paralyzed, couldn't move or defend himself.

"Everestian Pack dogs, let this foolish young male be a warning to you all! Do not avert your eyes from his fate or you will be next!" she howled. That said, she looked down at Arch. "Please, Alpha, have mercy on me; I was stupid to betray you... It won't happen aga-" he was cut short and the last part of his sentence turned to another scream of agony as, before the crowd of dogs forced to watch, his stomach was torn open by Almaz's flashing white teeth.

Laying in a spreading pool of blood lay the wounded, thought to be dead, dog. But he was still alive. Almaz whirled around, leaving him. To her Beta, she said, "Dispose of his body in what way you see fit." The Beta nodded, but upon seeing that Arch was still alive, he asked the Alpha Female what to do about him. Her response was simply, "Kill him." The Beta nodded with glee and the more bloodthirsty dogs of the pack joined in on the dog's final kill. His howls of pain as they slowly shredded him echoed throughout the territory. And so fell one of the dogs that could have led the others to freedom.

How far do you want to skip, like to the next morning or maybe a little longer than that so that Raven's paw has healed?))
(Maybe three days? DX The pups will have grown three more days old! XD)

Mint woke up early that morning, by design. After Morado had given her and her siblings those neat toys, she had decided for the moment that what she really wanted to be was not a hunter, not a sentry like her parents, but a digger. Diggers get to dig all day long and they're always finding such cool things, and Minty knew that it would be fun!

The little she-dog didn't move until she made sure her parents were still asleep, after which she hopped up and trotted to the opening of their den. It was still pretty dark, though the sky was tinted pastel colors and Minty could just see the sun peering over the horizon past a few of the city's tall buildings. Her tail wagging, she sprang out the door and ran the short distance down the junk pile to the ground. Looking around slyly, she began toward the mines, but thought better of that, recalling that her father had told her never to go there without an adult. Cats! How would she become a digger now?

And then it hit her! Her green gaze moving around, she finally spotted the den she was looking for. She had been there only a few times when her father visited with his friend on their way elsewhere. Peering into the den, Minty blinked to get used to the darkness, and at last spotted the sleeping form of a black and white dog. Celeste.

"Unka Celeste... Unka Celeste!" she whispered hurriedly, trying to decide how she was going to convince him to let her go digging with him that day.

Celeste snorted and made several odd sounds and words in his sleep, his paws twitching. Finally, one blue eye opened to look at her, but something was horribly wrong with it: the pupil was running in a long, black slit, like a cat eye, through the center of his eye. Blinking a few more times, the pupil returned to normal and he looked at Minty with surprise. "What're you doing here, pup?" he spluttered in surprise.

Minty wasn't sure what to say--her plan had not yet formulated in her mind. Her mouth opening and closing a few times, she finally managed to speak. "Unka Celeste, I wanna be a digger like you. Can I please, please, please come digging wif you today?" Batting her little green eyes, she looked to him hopefully, putting on her best cute face.
