Celeste kept his hard, grim expression but had to fight to keep from chuckling at the way she said that she had green eyes. "No, no, no, it's okay, it only comes after you when you're deep, deep in the mines," he said. He picked her up, hearing Mystery's voice, and began carrying her to him. "Yo, Mystery, Minty just popped in for an early visit. She's fine," he said.

Still crying quite loudly as she was carried, Mint saw her father and began to struggle in Celeste's grip, her paws flailing toward her father.

Mystery heard Celeste with some relief, and spotting the two, he trotted over, at which point Mint broke free at last and ran over to bury her face in his leg. Blinking down at her, he placed a gentle paw on her back, looking to Celeste quizzically. He trusted Celeste fully with the pups, so this sort of reaction was concerning to him. "What in the world happened?" he asked.

Quote: Celeste was now feeling quite foolish. "Well, she woke me up this morning saying she wanted to be a digger and begging me to take her to work with me... And when I told her what's down in the mines, she started bawling." he said, not meeting Mystery's gaze as he figured the dog would be mad at him.

Dixie loped out of the den and snarled, prepared to dish out pain if a dog had hurt or was hurting her puppies. Seeing Minty, she scooped the pup up, cradling her in her paws. "Shh, honey, shh..." she soothed.

(I'll be back in two hour's time; please stick around so that we can RP! DX We ddn't RP much yesterday.)

Mystery gave him a strange look. He wondered what could ever be in the mines that would scare Minty so much. But he shrugged it off, offering Celeste a smile. "Thanks for taking care of her, anyway," he said before turning to Dixie and Mint.

Minty had hidden her face in her mother's fur, and now that the initial alarm at what she had been told had worn off, she realized that her parents were there--and she snuck out of the den without them. She peered out at her father, batting her green eyes and sniffling a bit. He didn't look terribly happy with her.

"Let's get home to Raven and Jade," Mystery said to Dixie. He had mixed feelings on the whole event. He was sure he should scold Mint for sneaking out and waking poor Celeste up, but he wasn't sure what was right to say to her at the moment. For now, he would think it over...

Dixie began walking towards the dens, anxious to get back to the other two pups, which were likely up and into trouble already. Glancing back at Mystery, she smiled warmly. "Well, that's an interesting way to start the day, huh?" she joked.

Mystery managed a chuckle. "It was one way of waking up quickly," he replied, his mood lightening. He sighed with something like relief as their den came into sight, trotting inside. "We're back. Are you two okay?" he asked gently, nuzzling Raven and Jade as he did.

Quote: Jade, whom was now talking like a normal pup his age, nodded enthusiastically and said, "Yup!" while Raven, wide eyed, looked up at Mystery. "What was all that about?" she asked. "Did something scawy happen?"

(Sorry I was gone so long; I have been talking things over with my sister in law and parents and my suggestion is being seriously considered: my brother and his wife want two puppies. They like MIska (our dog)'s temperament. Both me and Alex and Anastasia and my dad know people who would adopt one of the pups, too. So, now, we are going to breed Miska with Juno, the black German Shepherd suitor. Maybe... VERY likely, since my dad has said yes and my mom doesn't care!)

Mystery drew Raven nearer, holding her comfortingly in one paw. "No, no, nothing like that," he said warmly. "Your sister just decided to sneak out this morning is all." He looked toward Dixie and Mint, feeling a little guilty himself as Mint looked sadly to her paws. Releasing Raven, he stood and stepped over to Mint, nuzzling her gently. "But she's learned not to sneak out now, hasn't she?" he said with a wink.

Her eyes met his, and with a timid smile, she nodded. "Yes, daddy."

"Good," Mystery replied, smiling to her. "Now why don't you go play with your brother and sister?" As Minty scampered off, Mystery looked to Dixie with a sigh. "They sure are a pawful, aren't they?" His gaze had moved to the pups, though he stood with his shoulder against Dixie's.

Dixie leaned against him and one side of her head seemed to vanish into his dark fur as she did. "Yes, they are," she replied, watching Jade try to pounce Minty while Raven, almost completely healed, hobbled around in the den until she found her beloved squeak toy. Raven's little body wobbled as she ratted the toy and finally, she let it go mid-swing and watched it fly into the side of Jade's head. The pup yelped in surprise, fell on his rump, and began to wail. Dixie just shook her head.

Her expression turning serious as she remembered something, she added, "Mystery, we don't have much longer until we will have to find a pup care for the puppies; you know we have to go back to work, don't you?"

(I am having so much fun RPing this family; they're more fun that any other!)

(Sorry I didn't see your post earlier XD )

Taz smiled, touching his nose to the two small bundles. "I don't know... you name one while I think of a name," he replied sitting down.
Ella smiled. "Well, I want to call the girl Nellie," she said quietly.

Taz nodded. "Nellie... do you think Dylan is a good name for him?" he asked, smiling, and touched his nose to the other pup.
