I have 3 little young Silkies. When we got them as chicks we thought we had 2 Grey and 1 Black(we obviously know very little about this breed :/) Now they all 3 look grey. They are adorable fluffy little lovies. I would love if they were all hens. BUT I am thinking I may have at least one roo. This little one is picking on my little Bantam Cochin so he is suspected of being a little crower. So how is it that one would be able to tell the difference? One of them has a fluffy crested head, so its hard to see anything on that little one. I am going to get my helpers to assist my in taking more pics so I can compare and hopefully figure this out.

i would keep him and wait until he is older maybe he will suprise you and be a she, but I have a pretty strong feeling it is a he.They can be tricky to sex.

But as with the above post. You might as well hang on to them til they crow...cause you may find yourself waiting for it until they lay an egg! :p

I will add that purchase date for these babies was March 21. So that puts them at about 13 weeks. I THOUGHT that the above pictured little one crowed the other day. (The name his girl has given him is "Pouf") But its kind of hard to tell with the little Cochin in the same house and plus 3 other roos sounding off as well. It really seems like as soon as I come out the back door they feel the need to talk to me by crowing. They are all proud of their new found voices.
