I've searched here for the correct dosage and I'm seeing two different things. Several say 1 teaspoon per gallon. Others say 2 teaspoons per gallon. I don't want to under-medicate and I don't want to poison, either.

Chicks are 14 weeks old and have been doing fine. They are on medicated feed but the weather here has been prime for Cocci - Hot - Humid - Rainy. Found one of the chicks laying in the corner of the run and isn't in a hurry to get up. The others are pushing and shoving on her and she's very slow moving. She looks a bit puffed up, as well. The rest are scratching and eating and she's just laying there and isn't responding or participating.

Decided that - given the conditions - should treat them for Cocci. But can't find consistent info on the correct amount of liquid per gallon. Any info is appreciated.

Dosage is 9.5cc or 9.5 ml = 1.93 tsp,we use 2 tsp,it is close enough. I personally use this dose, and have used it on 2 week old chicks, everyone was fine. 1 tsp is for 1/2 gallon.

Just to have lots of fun with math, the teaspoon is different in Australia and the UK than it is in the US.

OK, the differences are absurdly small, but nonetheless.

Well, I usually use online conversions. My mind doesn't do intricate math quickly and reliably anymore.

Yes, In the US, one teaspoon is 4.9 ml. So, yes. To make 9.5 ml, two teaspoons per gallon.

Online conversions! Geeze, why didn't I think of that?! My mind has never done math quickly and find it gets worse when I'm trying to do it fast. I'll remember to see about converting stuff online in the future.

Ain't technology grand?

Thank you all so much. One tsp. per 1/2 gallon and I will go home and figure out how much for one small tower waterer for my four chicks!

When using the liquid, that's correct for 1/2 gallon! I use the quart size waterers, they get 2.5ml. Corid powder is 1.5 teapoons per gallon, 3/4 teaspoon for 1/2 gallon.

And if you every want to read more about Corid dosing, here is a thread I started:
