Hi, I am so confused with my buff orpington! I swore it was a rooster a month ago but it hasn't changed much since then and I'm wondering if its just an early developing pullet. I'm interested in what experts have to say as these are my first chickens :) thanks!

And here's my barred rock, the same age, who I'm almost positive is a pullet.

I'm pretty sure that your Buff Orpington is a cockerel, but not certain. The tall stance and hard glare in the eye (females, in my opinion, tend to have a softer, less harsh "look"), darker feathers coming in on the body, and possible hackle feathers make me think cockerel. The Barred Rock is a pullet for sure.

I say its a roo. The comb is far more developed than my buff girls at that age. The darker coloring at the saddle, and those feathers look spikier at the saddle too. Tall stance. It looks like a roo to me.
