Is there a way to find out if someone is missing their pigeons? I ask because three with leg bands showed up here two days ago.

They're very cute and hungry, lol, so maybe I'll try the trap method once I get them used to eating in a certain spot.

Are they racing pigeons or some fancy kind, or white doves?

It might be they are not lost at all and just belong to someone else in the neighbourhood and they are allowed out to fly around.

Do they roost at night on your property or fly off and come back the next day?

I used to have some white racing pigeons and allowed them to fly free all the time from a dovecote in my garden. They used to go quite far away in he daytime and I would be really upset if someone caught them.

If they seem healthy and happy, its better to leave them be. Its unusual for 3 pigeons to get lost at the same time and in the same place. Usually only one odd bird will get lost and turn up exhausted and starving.

All three showed up the same day acting hungry. Not sure where they roost at night, but during the day they sit on top of my garden or the roof of my house. One is a solid dark gray, one is two-tone gray and the third is brown. I have pigeons, but they're just the kind you see in the wild, these look slightly different in their faces to me. I'll try to get some pictures of them.
