Hi I live in the cloud forests of Costa Rica. My family moved here last may. I have ordered 15 egg laying chicks with looks like some type of sex-link. Me and my dad have raised chickens before in South Dakota and are in the process of building another coop down here. Disappointed about not having much selection

. For some reason can't even get a rooster from the compony! Thankfully there is a neighbor who will give me one.

Does anybody know where to get some in the central valley? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to BYC! Kelsie has given you a great link that may help you out. Good luck finding the birds you are looking for and enjoy BYC!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I hope to soon show you some pics of the chicks and the coop! Also since it is a mild up here in the mountains (Doesn't get above 80 or below 50) how mony square foot per chicken in the coop will they need? (They are going to free range.)

It has been some years séance I was in Costa Rica but I do
not remember a shortage on roosters I thank you just need to
look around and I am willing to bet if you go in to any bar of
which there are plenty and ask someone will sell you one in
just a couple of minutes that is how I got several birds down
in your neck of the woods and I am sure 20 years has not
made that much difference

We went from Chinganola Panama to just over the border and
could get just about every thing we needed and if we could not
find anything a local could always find or get it for us .......
