I've struggled for a couple of years with the idea of setting aside my breeding projects and have determined it's simply got to happen.

I travel for work and hiring farmhands hasn't been good enough for the birds and hasn't helped me find the time to manage them as these lovely gems deserve. New and persistent predation at my home where I keep the juveniles has really been the last straw. There isn't enough of me to go around.

As you can see, there are many project flocks here. I'm willing to swing deals to get them moved to other project-oriented farms or loving homes. There isn't any shortage in interest in the Chocolate Projects! If you're super-interested and want to make an offer, do it!

I will ship.

Please message me for my phone number if you'd like to chat.

Thanks you all so much for all the inquiries-

Since these are completely unique because I founded the projects, I knew it would be a pretty wild ride to post on here instead of to an auction site for rare birds, but the responses have been overwhelming!

I'm going to put up some answers to what appear to be common questions, as well as prices and weights for shipping estimates.

Q. Will you ship?
A. Yes, I will ship wherever legal with NPIP certification and paperwork will accompany the birds. Keep in mind that it's getting hotter by the day, and it will soon be too hot for me to ship for stretches of days/weeks.

Q. Are you NPIP certified?
A. Yes, I'm NPIP certified, and my update was only 2 months ago. I will send appropriate paperwork with the birds.

Q. How much is shipping?
A. Shipping varies depending on how many birds you're having shipped and to which zip code. If you would like to estimate, bantam birds can be estimated at a 2# weight, large fowl at a 7# rate. If 4 or fewer bantams or 2 or fewer large fowl, a 5# box (and fruit/veggies & litter) estimate will be very close. For larger groups, the box weight is 8-12# depending on the group, food & litter required, whether dividers are necessary, and whether the weight requires the extra bottom panel in the box. The larger the weight, the less difference a few pounds makes in the cost, and grouping becomes more efficient. I will be shipping from the 66044 zip code. If you'd like me to estimate for you, just let me know your zip and which birds will be coming to live with you!

Q. Can I buy the whole project?
A. Yes, and I will direct future egg sales to you, if you would like.

Q. I'm interested in (insert breed here) and want to wait...will you hold it for me?
A. Yes, if you are willing to put down a deposit. My goal is to move these birds on to new homes as soon as possible- before it's too hot to ship from here. We get over 100 frequently in the summer and I can't even begin to consider shipping in temps consistently above 85˚F. If I consider them sold without a good commitment, I may not find them a home in time.

As a rule, I will sell to the person who purchases the birds- a conversation with me about them doesn't stop me from selling them to another buyer who is willing to commit the funds.

I have considered selling all of these via auction, but would like to wrap it up quickly by selling to enthusiastic folks who will continue the projects...and before it's too hot to ship. I'll work on getting more pics together.

Hiya!

The Ribbeck roo is just that, not split to anything, and yes, I would separate him and ship. I'll need you to have a box sent to me, however. I'm NPIP, so shipping is no biggie.

I'll go $35 for him.

I have sold some of the Cochins, but I still have the Chocolate pair, a juvenile pair, and a few odds and ends in chicks I have yet to figure out. I have at least one Mottled Blue cockerel in the juvies, I think. I'll try to get a list for certain.

Do you still have the chocolate d'Uccle hens? (And the split to chocolate roo.) If so, can you post or pm me with pictures of them from the side, and some showing their foot feathers? I am interested, but I only saw a couple of pictures, neither with a whole lot of detail. Thanks.

Hiya!

I've updated with some details of birds that have sold, and I've listed out some of the Marans and some of the juveniles in each group. I'm still trying to get pictures together for some of you, but my camera on my phone is awful and applies way too much contrast to everything, making things look very different from real life...and it's all sort of sepia.

I'm stealing my kid's phone so I can do better shots.

Hope it helps!
