Thanks for posting this. Its good to have a variety of sources for medications. I usually get antibiotics at the feed store and then figure out dosage based on weight according to the label. I don't know if dosage for fish is according to weight on these products or not. If not I guess we would have to search elsewhere to figure out dosage.
 
I will try to verify the oral dose amounts or all of them and modify the info above when I'm pretty sure I have the correct info. Most doses will be listed as mg per kg or mg per pound, so it will be up to those reading this thread to figure out the correct dose for their bird.

I don't believe that the bottles above have any manufacturing info on them and they certainly are not meant to be used for injections. IMNSHO, injectable anything should come from a sterile, sealed, container.

Thanks for the info. My vet prescribed Baytril for a hen with an abscess. Although I would not use this for minor infections or certainly just to prevent infection due to its risk of promoting resistant bacteria, I know it has a reputation of being an effective antibiotic. I saved the link for the second option from All Bird Products.

I think you have mentioned in other threads that you have used Baytril. What sorts of infections did you treat with Baytril?

I have used it mainly for intestinal infections and EYP, but also used it once when I had a sinus infection in a peachick. It can also be used in cats for many things that cats are susceptible to. Cat dose is no more than 5mg/kg per day.

Here is the one that had the sinus infection. None of the others it was with were sick and this one's been fine since, so not sure what it was, but Baytril fixed him, and fixed him fast!
Here it is at 9 am:


Four hours later:




Here he is 8 hours later. Note that I have not wiped his face.







28 hours later - still some swelling that is hard to see in pictures and some clear drainage from nostril. Up five grams, which is not enough, but it's better than a loss.

Chick was 100% after just two shots, but gave two more per the recommendation of a vet.
