Need your thoughts...

I have one egg with a wonky air cell. It is at the small end on the side. These are not shipped eggs. I brought them in from being layed fresh and put them in the turner while I collected for 3 days.

Does anyone have expience with this? Will it make it?

Should I turn it over so it is small end up so the little has a chance?

I am only at day 10, it is a dark green egg so can not see inside, only where the air cell is.

One of the reasons candling is important before setting is to make sure you know where the air cell its. Sometimes it is hard to tell which is the big end. If the air cell does not move when tilting the egg, I will likely be fine. The air cell will usually grow towards the top(bottom) of the egg and the chick will hatch fine.

set the egg with the air cell end up and incubate normally. Keep an eye on it though.

I would like to donate this cute mouse pad as a prize...brand new. ( I hope I'm not the only one that uses a computer..so many have lap tops now! )

Thank you! I added it to my list. Could you PM it to me so I don't have to search back through this thread when I need it?

I'm in! I'll be hatching Speckled Sussex. Not sure if my shipped eggs will come in time, but I'll set my own, if not. I have turkey eggs ordered, but they aren't likely to be here in time. If I have room, I'll hatch some Lav Orps and mixes for a friend. I have 21 in now on day 4.

Just turned my incubator back on. Going to put in some eggs tomorrow for a run of chicks for the next local auction on the 28th of this month.

It is also a test for the hatch-along.

I am in but I have to see if I have a broody who will be. ! Not many things sweeter than new chicks on Easter!

What day would I need to set eggs if I wanted them to hatch Easter day? Baby chicks on Easter would be a blast
