The silkie has a broken leg. I'm pretty sure it's at the knee joint. The joint doesn't feel the same as the other. When she tries to walk she drags it .her whole leg is only about 3" long out stretched. please help me help her/

perhaps a splint would help...I'm not sure.

I've made spints out of a butter tub. The plastic is firm . cutting down the sides to the demensions of her leg and across the bottom of the tub to form a foot pad for her toes. Using gauze and adhesive tape from the medicine cabinet, secure this splint to its leg being sure to extend and tape her toes in the normal position. It will be awkward for her at first, but she will get used to it. It will take two of you to put this on probably!

This is not a cure, but just a way to take the body weight off until it heals.

I hope this will help you somewhat. I have no idea how to set the bone in her leg.

Good Luck
Sylvia

you can also use a tube of sorts...either "padded" type or such...as long as it is not "floppy" and strengthen it with toothpicks inserted into the padding or foam...
