Elderberry' first offspring (with Swan):

I was expecting a lot of color possibilities, but all white wasn't one of them! I wonder if that means Elderberry is carrying all the Royal Palm genes, including Narragansett.

One more Swan egg to hatch. Then next week there are 6 Muffin eggs that look fertile.

Thank you. I've looked up 'bout every respiratory disease I can think of... None of them match... It's bugging me. I don't like the sound of it.

I treated for MG (since I already had meds) to see if it did anything, but nope. Still the same.

I have been researching and thinking about this. I think either a minor case of Cocci, which does not totally do them in, possibly because they have some immunity or some kind of poisoning, as Jerry said, Botulism or a substance they ingested that is not good for them..

Have you been feeding lead as a grit again?

Interesting, thanks....

Of course. Don't you? It increases weight gain dramatically with low feed cost.

I do have Corid. Maybe I'll run them through a course to see if it does anything.

Shooting at any possible target at this point... I don't like sick birds. Bugs me to no end until I fix them.

Could still be cocci, even if Corid doesn't work... Corid only works for a couple types of cocci and there are 9 types, I believe?

Good point, thank you. It has been quite rainy here so they're already at a higher risk.

They're kept in a pen with sand at night, and they're allowed to go into a 15 x 30ish run during the day. Sand is changed about once a week or as soon as it looks gross. There's 9 birds in the affected pen, but only a few birds are symptomatic. The best ones, of course.
