Hello!
Second time posting, these are the chicks that I confirmed to be mixed (found the breeder and they said that these could be olive egger x silkies)
They are about 8 weeks old now and I think one of these are a roo. Needed to confirm as we can't have them here.

Some quick background: My in-laws bought three chicks from Bomgaar's (farm and ranch supply chain for those that don't know) to add to our flock. They were labeled as lavender orpingtons, and the employee helping my FIL said they were lavender orpingtons, but I'm certain they must have been...
Hi, I have first time araukanas chickens. I am not sure about generace. I bought them as aprox 1 week old, now they are about 8 weeks old. I am quite sure the grey one is rooster, but white one is really tricky for me. Any time I look at him/her I change my opinion. :) Do you have please any...
The rest of the gals I'm confident in, but these two are confounding me. My first batch I'm having to figure out!
I'm worried that their feathers are starting to look so pointy around the neck? But they are my only two olives and they look so similar I can't tell if they are both roo's or if...
Hi everyone,
I hatched these chicks from mixed eggs i bought on a local farm. They are now eight weeks old and i was wondering what breed and gender they are? They all look different. HELP 😅
This is Drizzelle (7 weeks old on the picture). I think she's a girl, don't know what breed. Very calm...
Bought some Wyandotte eggs off a local chicken page and they threw in an extra egg. The egg was blue while the rest were cream colored Wyandotte eggs but I do know the woman only has one rooster so definitely a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte dad. What do you think is it a girl or boy and what breed is...
Hi all, still unsure on the sexes of 3 of my chicks. The Polish in the background is definitely a v.proud noisy little cockerel ☺️ the two pekins (?) I change my mind everyday and the silkie I haven’t a clue. Any opinions warmly welcomed ! They are 8 weeks old.
I have what I believe to be a Welsummer Bantam, a black sex-link, and what is looking like a silver laced wyandotte around 8 to 10 weeks. I'm fairly certain the welsummer is a pullet, but I've never had a bantam before so I'm not positive. I had a hard time finding photos of young welsummer...
Hi everyone 👋
so we have four flock members, 2 faverolles (salmon and bircher) and two warrens/goldlines. I’m wondering whether the goldlines are roos or pullets. I spotted what looks like the beginnings of a thin black tail feather on one yesterday and thought I should check. They hatched on...
I’ve read so many different posts about sexing EE.. what do you all think about this girl? My daughter named her Cleo but I’m worried she might actually be a Leo. Her comb isn’t any really more pronounced or pink than any of the other girls, but I’m noticing some “reddish” spots that seem to...
Bought this chicks when they were 1 to 3 days old. Straight run.
Id like to educate myself on the breeds I have.. so any guesses and which are pullets and Roos
I have 6 Easter Eggers that are 8 weeks old. I think I have a good idea of their gender s but I want to be sure because next week I’m sending the Roos to their new (loving) homes. :)
Here are my EE babies. Any input would be great because this is the first time raising this breed for our...
Hi All!! This is my first post on BYC and my first 2 months with chickens... LOVE them so much already!! All of my chicks were purchased just days-old, now all about 7 weeks old. Here’s a pic of both my Buff and Lav Orpington taken today. I hunch the lavender cutie named Viola might actually be...
I have a 8 week chick. It came with other eggs labelled as warren brown. But it starts to look a lot different to its mates. It has grey skins and a slightly spread out tail feathers and a head feathers. I really wish it is a she. Can anyone tell?
Hello, I am new to this form and this is my first post.
I have a almost 8 week old buff oripington and he has very red comb but no tail. I just want to make sure if he is really a he.
And when will the buff oripington start to crow? I have a 16 weeks old silkie male which just started crowing in...
i don't know what breed this is, he was in my "adopted" pack from the hatchery. judging by the color of the comb, it looks like a "maybe" rooster to me. however, i have nothing to compare him to, as the rest of them are different breeds. any guesses on breed/sex? he has a strange...
