We are first time Chicken owners and I wanted someone’s opinion! I know the first picture is a rooster and hens but we have 3 more that I’m not sure about! They are smaller in size and their combs are a lot smaller than our rooster and a different color. Hen or Roo?
Hi! I’m staring to get worried that one of my girls is a roo :( I’d keep a rooster anyway, but I was really hoping to have all girls. I got them from My Pet Chicken (Snowy Easter Eggers). One of my girls (or maybe boy I guess) is a bit bigger than the others (funny because she was the smallest...
Hello! We started a little flock of six birds. Three are cream legbar, one is serama bantam, and two are lavender orpington. They have brought so much joy and fascination so far! Thinking we can move outside soon once they have some more adult feathers for the youngest ones. They are about 5...
I have 2 Lavender Sussex Chickens, one is 19 Weeks Old and one is 16 weeks old. I believe the older one is a rooster, the wattles are red but the comb is still a pinkish colour, the younger chicken still has pinkish wattles and comb. Please see images below.
19 week old Lavender
Is this going...
I have one 19 Week old Barred Rock, which I think is Rooster as it has arching tail feathers, but still has small comb, shouldn't roos at this age have a larger comb? Please see images.
I also have two 16 week old Barred Rocks, to which I have no clue whether they are male or female, I have...
I have 7 Buff Orpingtons that are 17 week old, most of them have pinkish small combs except this one. Would someone please tell me if this a pullet or roo? Thank you so much!
Hi
This my supposedly 4 1/2 week old roo
The local farm we got him from wasn't 100% honest with me when buying him,
So I am questioning age and gender?
Any ideas?? Breed is Mraran mix
Looking for your help, guys! I've got four birds that I need to figure out if they're hens or roos. Two are brown/multi, one is white, and one is black and white. (We need to get rid of the roos, per law). Thanks in advance!!! (My guess is the white and white/black one are hens).
These are the two Pekin girls we got to replace our previous girl who turned out to be a boy.
They're around 17 weeks old now. The lavender one, Tiny Tornado, was very sick when she came. She had a respiratory disease which the vet treated with antibiotics. Then, as she got better, her comb and...
13 weeks old, from a farm in PHX, no crowing yet, Black Marans of Olive Egger (all black slight copper on neck and 2 white spots rear), and my mystery fella (I think has Marans, feather feet but puffy cheeks) Amaracana. No pointy neck feathers on the grey one, but acts like a roo, bossy and...
Two new kids on the block... one has longer thicker legs, a little longer tail feathers... both buff orpingtons about 12 weeks old... can anyone tell if they are both hens ( I hope!) or if one is a cockerel? Many thanks, I'm new at this!
I may need to get better pictures...
This is my first round of raising chicks. So far all of our guesses on pullets and cockerels have been correct. This guy had the red comb early on with the rest of the cockerels and the feather pattern looks like a rooster, but he hasn’t crowed yet and he never stands up to the other rooster and...
