Hi,
New to incubation,
I have 5 eggs, I've candled them all and 2 are moving by themselves but the other 3 don't seem to be. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if they are still alive or not as I've read that if you don't spot and remove dead eggs, they can explode.
Thanks :)
I have 9 chicken eggs in my incubator right now. They were just put in maybe four hours ago. I am seeking advice on how to increase my hatch rate as this incubator isn’t the greatest one out there.
1: I heard that you shouldn’t turn the eggs in the first 24 hours. Is this true?
2: My...
I'm using the Nurture right 360 to hatch some button quail eggs. I just put them in yesterday but I was looking at the bottom today and thought, what if they're feet can slip through those holes? I know they're legs are especially fragile. Should I open up the bator and cover it with something...
How long do you give eggs to hatch? 🤔
On April 6th, I found a secret nest under one of our mowers. There were nine eggs that were "good", I candled them & saw something in most of them... so I put them in our incubator.
Fast forward to April 26th. I hadn't forgot about the eggs (I've been...
Hey all, I have a white leghorn rooster now and am excited to try hatching out eggs. I’m curious on what crosses would be best. My first thought was to try rhode island reds. This makes golden comet or something alike? Would the chicks be sexlinked? Also, I’ve read that black australorp crossed...
Have 3 silver apple yard eggs incubating, pretty sure one is gone but don't want to be wrong. The other two had movement (tiny egg wiggles) and tapping/pecking. Today is day 29 and I hear and see nothing, we also endured a temp drop last night to 96.1 I'm going nuts over here! I've had lots of...
This is my first time ever attempting to hatch my own eggs! 🐣 I recently Read somewhere on here that when you first place your eggs in the incubator, if placed in the evening you won’t count day 1 until the next day, is that correct? I placed My Eggs March 26th at around 7pm and calculated my...
This is My first time hatching Chicks 🐣 and I recently come across a post that states You don’t count day 1 of incubation until the next day if the eggs where placed in the evening. I placed My eggs March 26th at around 7pm and counted 21 days from that which is April 16th (today) So would that...
This is my first ever hatch, only one fertile chick egg out of 4. I’m not seeing any Pips yet or hearing any chirping. The chick did seem to be very active as it has turned the egg itself almost completely around with all the wiggling inside the day prior. I am doing dry incubation so no...
i am now today on day 21 on incubating my chicks 🐥, but haven’t heard a peeping noise kind of worried but last time i candled my eggs, they were active & moving but something happened just now, there was a bug on my incubator so i was trying to get it off & i accidentally moved the incubator &...
Hello! I have some pictures and videos to share.
I bought 16 call duck eggs, only 8 seem to be fertile. It’s day 7 at the time of posting, the image was taken at midnight, and the images are from just before posting (7pm-ish).
I have some eggs in an incubator and some under one of my girls...
I live in FL and wanted to try a dry hatch this time bc of humidity issues. I’m running two incubators, a nurtureright360 at 30% humidity, no water and then Little Giants incubator with no water at 50% humidity. It’s day two and they’ve both been staying pretty steady at those numbers. should I...
Hello,
I am hatching my first ever quail eggs. I have a Hova-Bator 1602N. I have zero experience with an incubator. I read temperatures are 98-101F and humidities 45-65%. My eggs arrive tomorrow USPS. I wanted to get the incubator up and running and figured out.
Please can anyone tell me the...
Hi. This is my first time incubating eggs. I am using a cheap chinese incubator, and thus the temps are not very uniform and I expect the mortality rate to be quite high. I am wondering, is this a blood ring? Should I discard this egg?
I just wanted a quick check of my air cells. I was running about 55% humidity (I know it spiked to about 57% for a day or two). We are at about day 7. Are they looking to0 small? Should I drop to maybe 35%?
Hi everyone!
I am SO EXCITED to be preparing for my first incubator hatch, and will be involving my students! I am setting 18 EE/OE eggs on April 19 when we return to school after spring break. I know it is early, but I have LOTS of questions and want to make sure I am prepared to make this as...
Hi guys,
I got these quail eggs from a supermarket, wasn’t expecting much. I’ve also never hatched eggs before. All of them were duds until I got to the last one, I think this shows some sign of life?? Although I am new to this, what do you guys think? It’s day 4 fyi.
I could really use some advice. I'm on day 25 of incubating call duck eggs. I candled one last time before lockdown and I saw several weird eggs.
For example, this one has a normal looking air cell and then at the bottom there is a large empty space, almost like another air cell?! It looks like...
Hi! It’s my first time hatching eggs and my first duckling has just pipped externally. I’m worried that the pip isn’t big/deep enough for it to breathe. Any advise on how it looks? It’s been almost 24 hours since it pipped externally. There’s been no movement or sound.
