Hey Y’all
Below I’ve posted a picture of our little bantam flock (some not pictured) The mama is the one standing proud. She hatched 4..3 pullets and a roo
Anyhow laying there in the middle was the last to hatch. Her colour is very bland and isn’t what is expected.
Can anyone tell me why her...
What a wonderful surprise we found this morning… After hearing what Brie and I could have sworn was the sound of a cockerel chick attempting his first crow, we went running over to Nellie’s cage to see if she was alright! We knew there were no roosters in the house, so could not figure out what...
I have an almost 6 monthold OEGB who has been sitting on a ceramic egg on and off for 3 days now. I am new to chickens so I am not too sure about broody behavior. I was hoping someone could give me the 411! Id also like to mention we live in Buckeye, AZ (on the outskirts of Phoenix), so it's...
Hello! I am more of a hobby farmer, but really enjoy showing my feed-store hens at shows, even though they don't usually place high. About a year ago, I decided to invest in a breeding trio of Black Rosecombs. The hens were about 2 years old when I got them and, due to weak genetics, both...
I was wondering what color combinations of Old English Game Bantams would produce a different color when crossed together and what color? Like to know what has a fair chance to produces blue reds, lemon blues, mottled ect, I know it can take a lot of time of crossing back and forth to get them...

Hey guys! New to OEGB, so bear with me. I have a roughly 7 week old cockereI whose color I'm unsure about. Some background:

I am trying to determine the sex of two 6-week old chicks. I have an old English game (the lighter) and a Golden sebright. (The darker)
I think that they are both pullets, though this is my first time raising chicks, so I can’t be to confident. Any input would be very appreciated!
Thanks so much.
Hi! I've had chickens in yesteryear, but I'm on a different journey now. I've had 2 pet chickens before, but now that I'm growing my flock, I'm using a new set of skills built upon my previous chicken experience. I've found lots of help on this forum before signing up, and I've wanted to respond...
Offering one, 1 YO cock bird (and a brother), two, 1 YO hens, 16 pullets (born April-June, many pullets laying) 3 additional cockerel sons, any additional little ones, any eggs, etc. Lots of potential!
These birds are all sweet, all mostly extremely friendly, affectionate, people loving birds...
So I have some OEGBS that I'm going to breed once ready, and I was just wondering what would be the true outcome if I breed a SDW (silver duckwing) hen and a BSDWS (blue silver duckwing sport) rooster? And would that be bred considered 'true'? o_O
Thanks everyone
Someone brought me a number of OEGB mix cockerels. He gave me money for taking them, but I dont have the room to keep them all, nor do I have much use for mix breed roosters at this time.
Ive got seven of them, all around 3 months old. Some have straight combs, some have pea (maybe rose) combs...
