My largest pullet is about 5 months old, an easter egger. One week ago I noticed her stumbling and tripping over her own feet. Her legs seem to have gotten weaker, and she has a hard time walking without falling over. Her tail is sometimes drooping, sometimes upright. Only possible trigger I can...
Hey guys i recently hatched out some game fowl eggs and would like to know what breeds/type they are. All of them are about 6 1/2 weeks old. Any help is appreciated.
Gerardo (cockeral?)
Britney (pullet?)
Miguel (cockeral?)
Hello all, I searched but haven't found a match with this condition. This speckled biddy started limping slightly almost two weeks ago but was, and is still, walking, jumping, foraging, eating and drinking with her sisters, which we bought as hatchlings. They're integrating with 7 older birds...
Hello all, thank you for your assistance with this! I just got some pullets, 4 months old, a few weeks ago and one of the rhode island red's is unable to walk, she has her legs splayed out and although she can move them, she's unable to be mobile. She is also gaping and holding her beak open...
I’ve been posting so many sad things on here lately that I felt the need to share something nice!
Of course, it still comes with all the sad stories that led to it, but some of the April showers really did lead to flowers—or at least, the friendliest batch of chicks I’ve ever raised!
It started...
bought this chick from TSC listed as a “olive egger pullet” from week one I’ve been thinking it’s a cockerel due to lack of tail feathers and size of comb. Chick is now three weeks old. Any guesses what breeds were crossed to make him? What about sex?
Here is a four week old lavender Cochin. The tail feathers aren’t coming in like other chicks. The comb is larger in comparison. The legs seems to be thicker. This chick tends to square up to other chicks more so than anyone else. Do I have a cockerel on my hands or is there still a possibility...
I’m suspecting two of my supposed pullets could be roosters. Could anyone help me?! They are almost eight weeks old. Blue jersey giant and buff Orpington
1) first go around with chickens got 9 straight run chicks first week in December and two pullet/hens a couple weeks ago.
(2) weeks have 11 chickens right now it’s looking like 6/9 of the straight run chicks are roosters leaving 5 hens
(3) cuckoo marans, black copper marans, cream leghorns...
Bought these “girls” five weeks ago and I’m starting to worry that I have two Roos. I wouldn’t mind having roosters if they were allowed in my city but unfortunately I cannot. What do you think? I love them all so much. They are all so sweet!
I think my barred rock and buff might be Roos…I...
Hello all! I am looking to hatch some Blue Am eggs I have a blue Ameraucana hen and a Delaware Roo. Has anyone ever hatched these eggs? Will the Pullets lay blue eggs? Are you able to tell the Pullets from the Roos with this hatching? I’ve never done this before so I’m curious for all the info...
I have a group of 7 mixed pullets about 8 weeks old. I have just agreed to pick up a 6 week old Orpington cockeral to add in. Wondering how to go about it. I have the girls in a “brooder” under the poop shelf in my hen house. I have 4 full grown hens. I was wondering how to introduce the one...
A few months ago I got 8 pullets and this beige one is the funniest looking one. I am curious what she might be. Her egg color is a very light brown with almost pinkish color. Also I have what I believe to be a white leghorn but she’s laying cream colored eggs is this a thing?
I got this chick gifted to me by a friend of my grandma, but he never let us know what breed it is so im wondering if anyone has any idea what it could be. Also, can anyone tell if it's a roo or a pullet? 🤔
Got this baby today, was told she’s a pullet and just want everyone’s opinion, I’ve never had this breed before, although I have had Cemanis they are different.
Hello. We recently started this new adventure of raising chickens. We came home with 4 Wyandottes, 2 Amberlinks, and 1 California White. All was fine for a few hours but suddenly the California White was bleeding and being attacked. We’ve cleaned the wound, add antibiotic and isolated her...
