just for fun:
4 week old Easter egger
No idea what parents
From what I’ve read, the behaviour is very roo-ish. Leads the pack. Always runs to my hands and is down to snuggle.
Do you think it’s a roo or a pullet?
I have 2 chicks that I don't know what breed they are. Maybe someone can recognize them.
The first is a bird I found interesting so I got her. At a day old she already had wing feathers.
She's tiny, her head and body are a different shape and she stands up tall to look around. She has light...
This is one of our first easter egger chicks we hatched ourselves and I'm just wondering what everyone thinks it is based on feathers. Just for fun I know it takes a while to actually sex them.
I noticed one of my chicks that are 2 weeks old looks like it is getting a comb . This is my first Time with chicks. When I got them I was told they were all pullets
This is the only one developing one.
Can anyone tell at this age? I wouldn’t mind a rooster I was wanting one.
I have a mixer...
Hello all!
I’ve got this sweet little 5 week old light Sussex (I think) chick. I would love your opinion for rooster or future hen.
P.s he/she will have a loving home regardless :)
Please let me know if you think cockerel or pullet. I’ve labeled them in the first picture 1-4. I bought these from a Breeder who said they were all female. He says he checks gender by wings & he sells his cockerels to a company for butchering. Please let me know your thoughts, I’m curious about...
I bought 4 chicks from TSC. Two are barred rocks and two were supposed to be NH reds. When neither of the chicks turned red, I looked on the internet and came across pics of Americana’s or EE that looked identical to mine as babies. Are these Americana’s/EEs? I know they aren’t reds 😂 they are 4...
Hello!
Can you please help me sex my two Khaki Campbell 7 week olds? They are not quaking yet. We had someone try to vent sex and was told that the one with the dark bean was a male. They said that they were sure that the one with the caramel bean was a female. Please help! We can’t have 2...
Hello!
I’ve attached photos of my 4, 12 week old Australorps (that’s what we were told they were anyways) and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they are roo’s or hens? I have a feeling 3 of them are Roos but I don’t know too much about sexing! They have colour identifiers on their feet :)
I've read that Barnvelders are hard to sex even at 12 weeks. Hoping someone can tell me if mine are roos or pullets.
Please forgive the pictures, I had to do a sneak attack in the BlackBerry patch just to get these!
Hi everyone,
We are new to chickens and just introduced 5 chickies to our family in March. We love them! But lately, our beautiful Black Australorp, Mariah (Carey) has been doing a whole lot of what sounds suspiciously like cock-a-doodle-doo... and now we're wondering if she's not a diva after...
Pretty sure the little brown one is an Easter egger. Not sure about the white. The white has a handful of black feathers on its back.
they are just over three weeks old. Would love to know if anyone has guesses about the sex as well!
I have a roughly 10 wk old cochin chick,
I am stumped on gender, they're much smaller than the other chicks and a slow growth rate. I'm starting to wonder if they're a bantam breed?
Can any of you tell me your thoughts on if it's a girl or a boy?
It is a black sultan 6 going on 7 weeks soon. Super sweet chick. Giant feet. you can see bright red coloring starting around its beak. But this is my first pet chick .
Hi I am new to chickens. I just wanted to see if this was a pullet. She may have laid an egg already, but I can’t tell for certain due to the fact my other bluebell egger is always in the coop. But I just don’t really see her in the coop that much and I just want to make sure because most of...
I know it’s early and likely too early, but my lavender Orpington has much thicker legs, a more developed comb, and very pointy tail feathers compared to my other two. Is this a breed thing or potential for a rooster?
thanks!
Was sold this chick as a Barred Rock hen. It definitely not a Barred Rock, I suspect either black or red sex-link. Real question is, is this a cockerel? Pics at days 2 & 4, 2 wks & now at 19 weeks.
