I ordered some layers from Meyer Hatchery about 3 weeks ago. They threw in a “mystery chick”. Any guesses as to what she is? Her feathers are coming in a beautiful dove gray with some barring.
I’m guessing she’s got to be a fairly common laying breed. I doubt they’d be giving away anything...
I’ve attached some pictures of my new baby girl Biscuit. Biscuit is an energetic and very loud little chick. She’s over three weeks old now and lives with two baby Easter eggers and a Wyandotte of the same age with no problems. She is a pretty dark brown in colour with no spangling yet that I...
i hatched this chick back in may, she was laid by one of my cornish hens … she doesnt quite look like mom or dad, can anyone tell me what breed she is?
this is the rooster, dad:
mom is a cornish hen. here’s pictures of the mystery chick:
So I got eggs off ebay. Some bantam cochins and some silkies. 8 hatched out. 1 has 5 toe's but looks nothing like a silkie. Any guesses as to what breed it may be. Cochins don't have 5 toes.
I bought these two chicks as “Cuckoo Marans” from TSC. 🧐
I’m guessing Sapphire Gems or something similar? Also, the combs are still super duper small but are those red waffles coming in strong trying to tell me something? Nearly 6 weeks old.
Any guesses for gender and breed?
hi im new but ok so on sunday my brother and his girlfriend came into my room with a chicken in his hands and told me that they saw a guy throw the chicken outside his truck while at the lake. He then gave me the chicken and said i have to take care of it! So yeah it was a weird day. So far i...
Purchased one prairie blue bell pullet (black) and one starlight green egger pullet (white and orange) from Tractor Supply who got them from Hoover Hatcheries. Are these actually PBB and SGE pullets? I think they're around 4 wks old, not sure how long they were in the store before I purchased...
Hey everyone!
I am a new chicken owner and got a mixed breed flock, but am struggling to know which ones are male. All of them hatched late February. I noticed the tail feathers on these three curl inward, but I’m not sure if that means they are roosters. It’s hard to compare them to each other...

Hello everyone!
I bought this chicken as a baby from Ideal Poultry in Texas, it is 4.5 months old now. I bought this chicken as a Blue star, a cross between a blue Australorp and barred Plymouth Rock. This chicken does not look anything like the other blue star I received. This chicken is much...
I was so sure that this bird was a barred rock pullet until it grew some wing feathers. COMPLETELY BLACK! No stripes, nothing. I narrowed down all the possible breeds from what the breeder had to two. Barred Rock, and Black Australorp, but at a few days old it had the white bum, bib, wing tips...
Hey random question I got a pair of Muscovy hens from a friend a few months ago I know Muscovys Come in different varieties but I don’t them very well anyone have any idea what variety my hens are
(The third duck in these pictures is my Rouen)
Can someone tell me if my turkeys are heritage or bbb? This is my first year raising them. I bought them from Tsc on April 9th and they told me they were Broad Breasted. Well they’re like 25 weeks old now and I haven’t weighed them but they’re probably like 15 pounds maybe. They free range our...
So I bought a bunch of chickens from TSC and I began researching the breeds only to find that pictures online look nothing like what I bought. Can anyone help me identify these breeds?
Comb Type: Pea
Color: Black and white (Feathers coming in black)
Leg Color: Black with pink feet...
Hi, so I bought some assorted blue-egging pullets and ended up with four Ameraucanas, two of witch are cockerels. This pullet is the only one without a beard so I'm assuming she's an Easter Egger. Can anyone confirm this?
