I live in NJ, and there was a bad storm about a month ago where we got 18 inches of snow. A friend of mine works as a plow operator, and during the storm he found a duck under a car during his shift. He brought her to me - she's a bit deformed so there's no way she would survive in the wild -...
The chicken is around 3 months old. I got it when it was about one week old in October. I think it's either a black astralorp or black orprington. I'm not sure tho. Here are some pictures of it. Also, it was both black and white when it was a chick but when it grew older, the white dissapeared.
This is my rooster Captain Milo, I hatched him and 5 other chicks from eggs which was given to me. He is about 6th months old, a very gentle boy and so handsome! Thing is I have no idea what breed he is. The other 5 chickens I have already identified, but not him. The farm which I got the eggs...
We recently picked up 2 laying hens from a fb group. The owner wasn’t too sure which chickens laid which eggs and they were sold to her as group of “rare” breeds. So, with it going in to winter they probably won’t lay for a bit. So until we get egg color to go off of, any thoughts on what breeds...
Anyone have any guesses on what breed this guy is? I've never seen any that look like him
He came from Atwoods
His feathers aren't soft at all like the other rooster and hens and he's kind of scraggly. He's about 5 months old
Hi, so I got two ducks from my mom's cousin and he said that this was a "white cayuga" but I'm not sure if that's even a thing... I've seen some splashes of white in a Cayuga, but never a full white one. Here she is (not sure if she's even a she...)
She's standing next to her cayuga sister (Not...
I live in Washington and we've had a fair bit of smoke from the fires. On a particularly bad day, this little cutie wandered into our yard and never left. We don't know the age/gender/breed but it cant fly and hardly makes any noise (ive read males tend to be almost silent?) I've been feeding it...
Hello everyone! I am in my first year of raising chickens, but I'm loving it and have some serious chicken math. I keep getting a couple new chicks every once in a while and I want to get a more substantial number (5-10) next time I buy. I've been getting chicks from Orscheln's, Murray McMurray...
they are a little over a week old but i can’t figure out what breed they are. that was the best picture i could get of them bc they wouldn’t stay still.
Got these chicks recently and we are wondering what breed we have? The family we got them from said they were a bantam chicken but did not classify what exact breed they are. They are 4 weeks old now and still very tiny. The feathers they have coming in are variations of gray on their wings/tail...
Picked up 16 chicks today, 10 of which were assorted breeds (pullets). I got 3 different breeds, one of which I identified as Dominique (another which was just completely yellow, I suppose they could be literally anything)
Here's the last breed:
Any thoughts?
