Hi, so I have a friend who has a couple chickens that look like this. She says that they’re salmon Faverolles, but every picture I see online shows salmon Faverolles looking completely different.
Am I just missing something or is this a different breed of bird? I though it might be a Russian...
This handsome devil showed up shortly after I got my polish rooster and after I was unable to find his origins I just had to keep him. I'd like to get some input on what breeds he might be a mix of. His name is Dundee since he showed up on a walk-about. In the second pic he's with my buff...
Hey! Thanks for helping.....I purchased 7 Rhode Island Reds and 7 Amerucanas (???) some of what I am reading is making me wonder though.....They all have the grayish/blue feet and legs, but some have cheek puffs and I thought Amerucanas didn't have those....They are what they are and I'll love...
I got her from a friend who didn’t feel she fit in with the other two chicks she had as she was older than them.
My friend got the chicks from a feed store. She didn’t really pay attention to the breed label on the bin and as we all know they’re not exactly accurate.
The chick is about 6...
Hello all!
I just hatched four coturnix quail and I am wondering what breeds they are. When I got the eggs I was told that there were three different kinds of coturnix quail eggs in the box. The man said that there was standard coturnix, tuxedo, and one other that I don't remember. I hatched...
Last September hubby picked up new chicks from Tractor Supply, but he doesn't remember what they were listed as, only that they were female. I've attatched a few pics-I'm going back and forth between australorps and marans (they had both).
This is my neighbor's hen, she is so sweet and quiet. I always wondered what she was because I think she's so kind, quiet, and pretty! Her ears are red, her legs are slate blue and she is HUGE. She doesn't lay anymore but when she did her eggs were blue. She has a light gold lacing only on her...
That's Cocoricó, the best girl in the pack. Despites I have her for two years, have no idea what breed it is. Does anyone know?
Here is one of her eggs (left) compared to the other girls (right).
We have some mystery chicks acquired the same day and place as our turkens. The only thing we know about them is that they are females. Pics are from last month and today. They are almost 3 months old.
This is Little Bit, I got her from the mixed bantam bin at TSC last Feb so she's almost a year old. Her sister went broody this week and she tried to follow suit! I've not been able to figure out what breed she is and wondered if anyone knows.
I was wondering if anyone could identify which breed this chicken is. I can't find any breeds that have her coloring, but she does have green feet so I was wondering if maybe she was an easter egger? She is now 2.5 months old. Please let me know your thoughts!
edit: I don't know if it means...
Hello,
So I knew something wasn't quite right when I bought this chick anyway I did. The chick is supposed to be a silver laced Wyandotte and I knew they aren't red so now I would just like to know what I have. This is dixie 2 weeks old. I was thinking New Hampshire red or something like that...
Hello!
I was on vacation a bit ago and on my journey, I went a little ways to go to Plimouth Plantation. There was a small little flock of six hens and one very sweet rooster in the Pilgrim village.
I could identify the hens, for I am pretty good at breed guessing, but I absolutely flop at...
So these chicks have stumped people in my FB chicken group so I am calling in the experts. I have no idea what breed they are as they came from "mystery" eggs. The 2 black ones came from chocolate colored eggs so I am thinking marran maybe? The 3 light ones are the ones giving us more trouble...
I have had her for a few months, got her at a small animal auction. I don't know how old she is. She lays a brown egg, bigger than my other layers. Any help is appreciated.
This is Wheat. I've been told she's a kelso game hen but I'm not entirely convinced. She is extremely flight and is aggressive when she's broody. She goes broody maybe 3-6 times a year. She lays white eggs if that helps.
Hi Everyone,
A friend has these TWO bantam cocks/roosters. She tells me they are approx. 2 years old, she also said she doesn't know what type of breeds they are and gave the impression they are of mixed breed. Do you know what sort of breeds theses Cock's parents are likely to have been...
I have 4 6 week old chickens.
They are getting big fast.
Due to small kids, we don't hold them frequently, so I'm trying hoping food scraps can help win their trust.
We are prepping our coop and I think they would like it better outside (50-60degreed day, 40 night). In the interim, I'd like to...
