Midnight sighed and she grazed with the other mares.

Midnight looked at the sky and whinnied, then went back to Grazing. She wished Penny was here still..

A much shorter than average Chincoteague mare gently squeezed by Midnight, her pregnant belly so large it barely dragged against the ground. She collapsed out of sheer exhaustion seconds later.

Midnight pittied the mare, then finally came over to help. She nudged her up with all her might, and nuzzled the mare, trying to calm her. "It's aright. Just think til' that thing is out," she said trying to sound a bit cheerful.

She sighed, and looked down to the ground. Her mane and tail were both still fairly short, signifying she was most likely only two or so in age. "I never wanted this..." said the young mare.
