I'm too chicken to ride my horse bareback, I would probably slide right off.

Normally I don't; not because I am afraid, I just can't give them a good dressage or jump lesson bareback. However, it was good for him to relax today. I love riding bareback, and it really helps you develop a good sense of balance, although my trainer says I already am really balanced.

. You should try it some time.

Well, my horse is a Peruvian horse, which means he is gaited and he goes VERY fast. His walk has been clocked at 10 MPH. My 4-H leader thinks he was actually never trained to walk and some stupid person decide to train him to run as soon as they get on. It took me a LONG time to break him of that, and he still does it to other people.

Oooh. I have never ridden a gaited horse; sounds fun. At some point I am going to adopt an ex-trotter, a standardbred.

It is! That's cool, you really should. People who have never ridden a gaited horse have missed out!
