Yay I'm going to ride my horses today because it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL outside and like 60 degrees! That's like never happened in January! Wierdest winter ever....

AND GUESS WHAT!
So we sent my boy Footloose to my trainer for the winter and he's apparently jumping really well and not being crazy and he hasn't gone lame at all, which I was really worried about considering his previous injuries

... weeeeee by next summer I might have 2 preliminary lvl horses and a novice one

I rode the mighty Spritey, and Boy was she FRESH! She tried to bolt a few times, and we spent a good amount of time going sideways, but it was still fun. I don't blame her, she is a very hot horse normally and hasnt been ridden much recently. She did try to bolt over jumps and I had to school her, but eventually she got better. It was good fun, and I like this weather

Guys, I'm scared. Last night Dezi suddenly just wouldn't eat his food. The truck was running, it was dark, and we'd just let them out in the yard to graze. I really didn't think there was anything wrong, maybe he was full. This morning, he won't eat his feed either! He's 20, probably coming on 21 years old. About a month or so ago we got an 8 month old colt, Duce and they've been together since then, they're really good buddies. Anybody know why he quit eating his feed? We feed him special senior feed. Just recently, we started adding oats to his food as a filler because the pasture doesn't have much grass and he always seems hungry, even after he's eaten.

Is Dezi showing any signs of colic? Has he had his teeth done lately? Other than not eating, what is ge acting like? Is he passing manure? Is he urinating?

Sorry about the weird question, but it is the same as what a vet is gonna ask. One more question for you; could therr be mold or bugs in the grain he is getting?

Not the grain we are feeding him, but we do have a sack of moldy chicken feed sitting out by the garage, just I think yesterday we let them out in the yard and he might have gotten into that. He will take like a mouthful or two, then walk away. The day we let him out was the same night that he quit eating. I dunno, he's over weight, at 4-H a vet came and talked to us about horse health, Dezi is a 4, 5 being the fattest.
