I got denied, at least for now... I'm a little mad, but my mom and I had a long, thorough conversation.

1) She would love to say yes, but she didn't see enough commitment from me.
2) I don't work around the house as much as I could (I work at Bannon already!!! D': )
3) The cost. (I have to agree, he's pretty expensive for a full lease but it will be so worth it...). We're a lil short on money so she doesn't know if we can afford it. She is going to speak to my instructor about this.
4) She's concerned about how old he is and how much longer he'll be around. (Star's not THAT old, and he still acts like he's fricking 5. Still jumps, and can still gait.) She'll also talk to Jenna (my instructor) to see if there's a horse that's more viable for me. (Which I really don't think there is...)
5) She wants to see more commitment to the sport overall.

I'm a bit frustrated, but she's right. So.

I hope you can start leasing him! I just started leasing a hores at my stable last week and i know how much fun it is!!! I hope it works out for you!

Oh my goodness. I was just thinking about all the horses I've ridden before (riding lessons, friends horses, etc.) and I totally forgot my favorite of them all!! HOW COULD I HAVE DONE THAT?!?!

This is Drover, a (previously) abused quarter horse. He is massive! Only certain people can ride him, since he was abused by an owner who hit him in the head when he was bad, and everyone who can ride him has to be extremely gentle.

He is so darn sweet!!






Sadly, he was stolen by one of his owner's "acquaintance".

I miss him allot.

Wow he is a big horse!!! i use to ride a horse that was 17.2 hands high as well,His name is Stretch. I miss him....

People can be such jerks!! Makes me wanna hit his previous owner on the head and see how he feels...

I can't stand to see a horse abused. Bannon Woods, my equestrian center, took in a MASSIVE Clydestale who was nearly beaten to death. He had a flea-bitten coat pattern, and his name is Bender. He really is a great horse, but was previously abused.

My equestrian trainer's horse Molecular (ex-racehorse, also in the same lineage as Secretariat! Can you believe that?!) is about 16 hh... ^_^

I'm really excited about Thursday but also nervous because I might not be able to go to my lessons! We're having an all-night party at my school and I might have to come in late. But it's worth it, as long as I can still be with Starfire. ^_^
