This time, when I got on Dezi, all I asked was for God to keep me safe and he found a loop-hole! I'm perfectly safe except for my elbow. And do you know why he threw me? Cows! We were walking down the road (bareback) and we got to a point and he just stopped and kept trying to turn around. i thought maybe it was my mom, who was a ways back behind us. She came up and started walking with us, but he was still doing it. Then we came you an open gate to a pasture with lots of grass in it. He wanted to go in there but i wouldn't let him. He acted like he could see some danger or something ahead of us. We didn't see anything. I made him go forward. I was starting to think he was just being bad, when we got to a point and he started trying to turn and backing up and getting really scared. My mom yelled at him and clapped her hands behind him like she does to the dogs when they are bad. This totally freaked him out because she was acting like she was gonna slap him, even though she wasn't. He started bucking and i held on for at least three good bucks before sliding off. I fell on my butt, but Dezi ran, ooh! was he pretty. His tail was up in the air like an Arabian and he was going FAST! He ran away down the road, then he turned around and ran back at us. I puled mom off the road and he swerved into our neighbors pasture, where he was running down the bull-run (a stretch of weedy land between properties). I walked up to him and he let me grab him. Right beside where he was standing there was a HUGE hole, if he had run into that he would have broken his leg for sure and would probably have had to be put down. We walked back down the road, and on the way back I got back on him. It was then that we realized it was the black cows in the pasture beside the road! Funny how horses are scared of black trash cans, black cows, black cars, but he's a black horse! Well, that morning our farrier had come to trim his hooves and she loaned us her bareback pad! It's great and I'm riding in the parade with it. I'm also getting dezi decked out with garland and bells maybe some ribbon. My mom is making me wear a blue santa hat. Well, everything worked out, so i'm happy!
Wow, that is a blessing! The Lord kept you and your horse safe. That's really exciting you will be able to ride in the parade! Hope you have a lot of fun!
