While Mater is funny, he has been a Spotlight Stealing Car for a while. They really need to focus on some of their other characters, like, oh I don't know... The protagonist and his girlfriend?!

Yeah, Doc's voice actor died so he isn't coming back.

Mater is totally becoming too important! He should go back to being a sidekick character; Lightning is better!

I have to agree with majority here, Mater was good as a side kick, funny and all around Mater-y but he is become somewhat annoying.
