How do chickens get heat stroke?
I'm surprised mine haven't gotten it yet, summers here get intense, it's so dry.

Give her lots of TLC and keep her inside or in a safe place if you can.

no, she just put it under her body like she is going to preen

"When I'm Gone". Personally, one of my favourites.

no, she is eating a tad bit

OK, well that's good at least. She's trying to hold on.

but what does worry me is this

when she breath, is is rasp and watery she had it as a chick, i thought she would grow out of it, but i am wrong

To much heat, not enough ventilation or shade.

I really don't understand how people lose them to it all of the time. We live in the plains of the melting trees and haven't lost a single bird.

But it's possible, if she was injured and couldn't get out of the sun or something.

My dad is sometimes a bit of a pain when it comes to the issue of shade:
We have a lovely big fruit tree the chickens love to shelter under when it's hot or it's raining, but Father Dearest doesn't want to let them out of their enclosure because it means they'll come up to the house and crap everywhere.

The only shade in there is a tree next to the hot metal coop. Poor chickens!

Do chickens get chronic conditions?
That's not good, I don't have any advice to say besides good luck.

Hm. Like I said, keep an eye on her and give her lots of attention when needed. Also give her things that are fairly easy for her to digest and eat, which I'm sure you're doing. Maybe plain yogurt? And get electrolytes for her water if you can...That's all my advice for now. Is she pooping alright?

I'm sure there's bound to be someone on BYC who will have some clue!
Have you posted elsewhere? I'm not really the best person to ask about diseases
