i can give my cat a bath, dress him up in baby clothing, and put him in a stroller, and i still have both of my arms

Although it needs work, I really like this passage from my book:

“Yes. You see, when I was about three, my uncle Ect was watching me one day while my parents were out of town. He wanted to take my eyes for... something, Miss Filament never told me what, so he... he took out my eyes and put these in. My parents hated my eyes, and almost ripped them out a few times.” Tears formed in her strange eyes. “Everyone hated them, and called me all sorts of nasty names that I'm sure mommy told me never to say. I... I hate these. They make everyone I know call me a nasty name. So, If.” Carys almost laughed in defeat, “Go ahead. Call me whatever you like. Everyone else does.”
