We don't close up their coop at all.

I don't know, but they usually come with names if they're adults. But if they didn't have names I would call a mare Phoebe or a gelding...Well I dunno.

My dad really likes the Silkies.

We need to close their coops. We have too many predators in the area.

I always love to give things people names. You should've seen me on poultryland. Others called their chickens things like 'sunrise' and 'red moon', me... Hayden, Letty, Taffy, Laurie etc.

The chickens eat my dad's vegetables. He likes to pat them gently away while talking to them

It's amusing to watch. They growl and protest and try to peck him.

We THOUGHT we'd get predators, and kept the door tightly shut for a few months, until we realised the biggest threat was the neighbourhood cats.
