"Peter?" Alice pried her hand out from between his torso and thigh. "Peter." She said again shaking his shoulder gently. She'd never had someone pass out while she was healing them before, but her powers were acting weird.
Alice's breath huffed out of her in a sharp exhale, she felt like she had just been hit in the gut with a brick. She tried to speak but had no words. Slowly she began to shake her head.
"N-no. No, he's not." She whispered, squeezing her eyes shut and wrapping her arms around her middle. Alice shook her head harder, refusing to believe anything else terrible could happen. Air hissed through chattering teeth until she was completely empty, followed by a sharp inhale and she repeated it shouting, "NO HE'S NOT!" Tears broke past her barricade, and she finally folded over on top of her knees sobbing.
