While she smiled, Bleddyn was going through everything Wolfram had done for her.

He’d carried her, unconscious, all the way home after their first Pure confrontation.
He’d pulled Mapleshade’s knife out of her leg and talked her back to sanity in that van.
He’d dragged her out of the underground catacombs.
He’d taken a knife meant for her in the following fight.
He’d bargained with Mapleshade for her life.
He’d signed for her to be treated in the Multitude’s healing center.
He’d complimented her in that s t u p i d sweater.
He'd argued with her over the speed of pizza consumption.
He’d punched her in the face when she goaded him into it.
He’d consoled her in the Davis's kitchen when they realized they’d lost Tayn and Thomas.
He’d driven her to school, despite the looming threat her father had posed.
He’d opened up to her in the bank’s parking lot.
He’d tracked her father down when he disappeared beneath the rubble.
He’d held her after she’d killed her father with a power she would’ve died to have.
He’d gone down with her into the abyss she created.
He’d pulled her out when she wanted her father’s grave to be hers.
He’d tried to stop her from returning to the fight, undeniably like a moron.
He’d torn Mapleshade’s fatal attention away from her in the ring of fire.
And this. Right now.

In fact, of spite of what she’d sworn earlier, maybe life debts shouldn’t be forgotten.

Before she could overthink this, Bleddyn surged up on her toes.
She kissed his cheek, right on a bruise’s shiny center.
When she pulled away, the spicy tangs of both sweat and blood had her lips tingling.
“Think so.“
Then she took off like the word fatigue wasn’t in her dictionary.

Also I think it’s hilarious that everyone is so descriptive at how captivatingly beautiful eyes of their characters are and then I’m here just like. “I think mine are technically blue. Technically. I don’t actually know what color my eyes are.”
